Exactly a year after fire destroyed part of Brindley House, the Beaconsfield nursery held a charity fun day in aid of the Grenfell Tower Appeal. Beaconsfield Childcare were overwhelmed by the support of families, staff and the local community and decided it would be nice to commemorate the date by having a party and helping others at the same time.
Owner and Director Sarah Fahey explains, “I felt it was important to mark the anniversary of the fire in a positive way and do something to help others in need. We’re lucky enough to now have a beautiful building and have also received a lot of support from everyone along the way.”
As well as a bouncy castle and face painting, there were also lots of games for the children (and adults!) to enjoy, including tombolas, a treasure hunt and a raffle. Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet and the cake stall was also very popular.
Our nurseries are a warm and welcoming community and being able to spend some fun time with parents and children is an important part of our ethos. “It was lovely to see parents enjoying a coffee and a chat together,” says Sarah.
The day raised over £1,000 for the Grenfell Tower Appeal and we would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us on the day, especially because of the rather grotty weather!
