We know how much most of our children enjoy craft activities at our Beaconsfield nurseries and thought some ideas of things for you to do at home with your little ones over the Christmas holidays might be useful.

As well as being an activity for little children on a day when it’s too grim to leave the house, this handprint wreath will make a lovely keepsake for years to come, reminding you all how little their hands once were!

Perhaps the grown-ups are feeling left out? How about a project that includes the whole family’s handprints?

There are lots of other lovely creative ideas involving little hands and feet. A favourite at Brindley House last year were the footprint reindeer that we made. This is such an easy thing to do and the children love putting their feet in paint. Just remember to have a bowl of water nearby so you don’t have Rudolph footprints all over the house!

If having something edible is important to you, then these melting snowman are fantastic – they look brilliant but are so easy to make. You don’t even have to bake your own biscuits – you could just use digestives to make it even simpler.

Pinterest is a great source of ideas and the most important thing is to have fun!
